This is my application essay to the University of Pennsylvania Master in Applied Positive Psychology program, which I wrote in March, 2008. In a quest to clean up files on my computer, I found it tonight and it makes me smile to know I am still on my path towards freedom. *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  *  * For some time now, I have been thinking that I when my time comes, I’d like my tombstone to read, “It feels...

SOMO Leadership Labs launched as a social-experiment in Cleveland, Ohio. It was a magical time of synchronicity, synergy, faith, and love. People who share common direction and sense of community can get where they are going quicker and easier, because they are traveling on...

I trust that other people are worth the struggle. I know that every situation is workable. Great Determination I’m willing to keep going. I choose to stay. I surrender to what is....

“the wounded child inside many males is a boy who, when he first spoke his truths, was silenced by paternal sadism, by a patriarchal world that did not want him to claim his true feelings. The wounded child inside many females is a girl who was taught from early childhood that she must become something other than herself, deny her true feelings, in order to attract and please others. When men and women punish each other for truth telling, we reinforce the notion that lies are better. To be loving we willingly hear the other’s truth, and most important, we...
